A guy "Guy" I knew in the Navy went to school in Florida with my husband. Guy was a married with a child, stationed away from his family and staying in a house he rented with 2 other guys, we knew them all.

There was this woman "Beth" who somehow thought that he was the man for her and she just had to have him. She tried over and over to get Guy to go out with her but he refused. One night the roommates threw a party at the house which she attended. Beth was determined to have Guy that night and cornered him. When he denied her advances, and told her it would never happen she found someone else to satisfy her. Guy thought it was over until the next morning when he was picked up by military police for rape. He was not the first man she had claimed this about.

In the trial we found out that she had sex in Guy's bed with this other man, then called the police claiming that Guy raped her. Guy was not even at the house by then, he had left to get away from her. Being a military trial and having both thier DNA in HIS bed and Guy not having a witness for the time it happened even though the man she did have sex with addmitted it and testified for Guy, he was convicted of rape a sentanced to 10 years which placed him in Levenworth.

Nothing happened to her, but about 5 years later she "found God" and recanted her story. That is how I know the full details now. By this time Guy had lost his wife, family and career...his entire life. The conviction was disolved his record cleared, he received backpay and was reinstated appropriately in the military, but he's not the same Guy.

My point is that there is always a bit of truth in every story and that both men and women are capable of being the harrasser. No one would have believed Guy if he had filed a compliant either. He was a good looking Navy man living away from his family, of course he's not faithful, and if he's not faithful then of course he is capable of rape.

As for "Larry" I hope someone gave him what deserved sooner or later, and I am truely sorry that experience is a part of your life.Brendanoreply@blogger.com
